  • About Us

Peninsula Community Health Services of Alaska, Inc. (PCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in the beautiful Central Kenai Peninsula, in the Last Frontier state of Alaska. We have three sites providing integrated care:

    • Site in Soldotna offering medical, psychiatry, behavioral health, and eye care
    • Two sites in Kenai offering:

                        Medical, psychiatry, behavioral health

                        Dental

We employ approximately 25 providers and 85 clinical and administrative support staff.

As an FQHC, we are a safety net provider for our community of about 39,000 people. We also work with the local hospital for patients in need of inpatient or surgical care. Aligning with our mission, to provide accessible, affordable healthcare, we meet stringent quality of care requirements established by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and offer sliding fee discounts to patients that qualify. The sliding fee discount is based on family size and income, and we provide services to our patients regardless of ability to pay. Our staff enjoy working with an organization that diligently strives to meet the needs of our patients and community.

  • Benefits

Our benefits include medical, dental, vision, 403b, life insurance, long and short-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Staff receive generous paid time off, on an accrual basis, plus eight paid holidays and five floating holidays per year. There are 15 days of paid Jury Duty available annually, plus a paid Volunteer Day for all employees. We offer reimbursement and paid time off for continuing education for qualifying staff and discounts on PCHS services. We set a high standard for employee engagement including regular departmental meetings, monthly lunches (some catered, some cooked by leadership), prize contests, birthday lunches, logowear, a private Facebook group for staff, and an annual old fashioned employee family picnic. Feedback from our staff is routinely sought and considered in decision making through periodic and topic-specific ad hoc surveys and an annual employee satisfaction survey. Our senior leadership team is readily available to all staff for feedback, problem solving, and operational improvements.
