PCHS has Patient Eligibility Coordinators for Help
Our Patient Eligibility Coordinators are trained and able to help consumers as they look for health coverage options through the marketplace, including completing eligibility and enrollment forms. There is no charge for this service. They will help with Medicaid and Medicare Insurance applications. They also verify income submissions for those who qualify for the PCHS sliding fee discount for Medical, Eye Care, Physical Therapy, Dental and Behavioral Health Services.

Financial Policy
Everyone who can afford to pay for services is expected to pay all or a portion of the fee. No one will be refused services because of an inability to pay. We accept most insurance including: Private health insurance, Veterans, Medicaid, Denali KidCare and Medicare. We offer a sliding fee discount to those who qualify based on family size and income regardless of insurance coverage.
Patients are responsible for the balance not covered by insurance or 3rd parties.
Sliding Fee Discount Policy
For those who qualify, discounts are applied to the unpaid balance or patient's "out-of-pocket expense."
Eligibility for discounts is based on household size and monthly gross income. Base rates are calculated using national poverty levels as adjusted for Alaska and extended up to 200%.
For those who qualify for a discount, proof of income is required.
When you apply you will need:
• Photo ID
• Birth date
• Social Security Number
• Green Cards for Permanent Residents, Certificates for Naturalized Citizens
• Current income information (examples: pay stubs, social security letter, bank statements, or tax returns)

PCHS has staff available to help you navigate Medicaid, ACA Special Enrollment Periods, and Medicare.
