Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is an evidence based and holistic healthcare profession that focuses on increasing quality of life and completion of activities of daily living. An occupation is defined as any meaningful daily activity. Occupational therapists (OTs) treat a diverse population of individuals through the lifespan, from birth to end of life. The interventions used in occupational therapy can include exercise, manual therapy techniques, self-care strategies, therapeutic activities, and neuro reeducation.
Due to the wide range of concerns addressed by occupational therapy, OTs typically specialize in areas of practice, such as pediatrics or hand therapy. Our PCHS OT specializes in women’s health, pelvic floor therapy, pregnancy and post-partum care, lymphedema, and breast cancer rehab.
